Welcome to 5th grade! I look forward to having your child in my class. This is my 15th year teaching, and my 1st year at David Crockett Elementary. As a child, I graduated from Weatherford ISD, and while my teaching career started in Houston, Texas, I am excited to be back home in Weatherford. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston. In addition to acquiring my teaching certificate, I am ESL (English as a Second Language) certified, Reading Recovery (a reading intervention program) certified, and am trained for our Gifted and Talented learners. 

My philosophy in teaching is that all students can learn when given the specific tools needed. I believe that every student is successful in their own way. My classroom promotes a safe and healthy learning environment that motivates each student to reach their fullest potential. Through this positive climate, students are more confident, and their performance is a direct reflection of their abilities and perseverance. If there is one word to define me, it is the word, “dedicated”. I believe that every student can learn, no matter the obstacles. 

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, camping, gardening, and traveling. I love spending time with my family, and with my two boys who are working and attending college. 

This year is going to be an amazing year; let’s gooooo! #roolife
