Weatherford ISD to Open 2 Hours Late on Wednesday

After monitoring road conditions in our school district this afternoon, administrators have determined WISD will have a 2 hour delayed start on Wednesday, December 11.
By opening 2 hours later than normal, we allow our bus drivers to have maximum visibility to avoid problem areas on the road. It also keeps students out of the pre-dawn cold.

Buses will run their usual routes but will pick up students two hours later than normal on Wednesday.

WISD and First Student are aware that some roads, especially in the northern part of our district, remain covered in ice. Parents should expect a call tomorrow morning if First Student cannot safely travel to their neighborhood.

Your safety is our highest priority. Parents should use discretion if it is unsafe to travel from their home. Parents of teenage drivers should also use discretion and advise their children to use extreme caution if driving to school.
