About Me

Hello and welcome to 3rd Grade! My name is Savannah Higdon. I have been teaching 3rd grade at Crockett Elementary School since 2021. I was born in Dallas and raised in Coppell, TX. I graduated from Western Governors University but am a Red Raider at heart. (Wreck 'Em Tech!!) I am a cat mom to my sweet fur child, Boo.

My passion for education stems from the quote by Rita F. Pierson, “Every child deserves a champion-- an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” As an educator, it is my goal to be every student's champion. I want each of my students to know that I not only care about their learning, but that I care about who they are.

I thrive on building a classroom and school community that is innovative and creative to achieve a high level of performance in myself, my team, and my students. My teaching beliefs drive my mentality for cultivating a classroom and team that is a positive, student focused environment that motivates us to collaborate together to ensure student success.
